この曲は、俺たちの世代だとPet shop boysの印象の方が強いけど、原曲はVillage peopleという人たちなんです。
詳しいことは分かりませんがメンバーの殆どが同性愛者で、この曲の「Go west」という歌詞は、アメリカ西部にあるカリフォルニアはそういったマイノリティーにもオープンだから、その地に行って自分らしく生きよう、といったような意味合いらしいです。
あと、PVが超ダサくてかっけぇです。
